Héctor Carrizosa (1943 - )

 

Hector Carrizosa was born November 14, 1943 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. He began his studies with his father Manuel Carrizosa Velazco, a well known painter.

By 1960 he was working side by side with Spanish painter Juan E. Mingorance and mounts his first solo exhibition in Monterrey. In 1967 he wins first place award at the Universal Art Gallery of Monterrey’s “Salon Primavera Artistas Profesionales”.

In the year 1976 he founded and directed the Monterrey School of Art. By 1978 he exhibits at the Hispanic Cultural Center in Brasilia, Brazil. A year later he went to live in Barcelona, Spain and mounted an exhibition at Grupo Galería. In the early eighties he was one of the pioneers from the first Lithographic Workshop in northern Mexico. Since then Hector Carrizosa has had a successful non-stop career exhibiting at important art galleries and museums throughout the world.
